Foxen - also known as John and Margaret - play and sing songs from the English and other traditions as well as our own compositions and other writers.Sometimes we get sidetracked. For example, we spent a lot of time working out what we considered a beautiful and sensitive arrangement of The Water Is Wide. We performed it once at the Havering Folk Club (now Haverfolk) and resident wit Trevor Sharples came up with a disgraceful parody, My Bottom Is Wide, which has now become far more popular than our original version. We've tweaked his song here and there and added a verse or two but otherwise this splendid song is all Trevor's. Well done that man. We like humorous songs but we also like traditional tunes such as The Trees They Do Grow High. For more of what we do, see Some Of Our Songs
